On the other hand, anodic fluorination of 3-oxo-2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene and methyl 3-oxo-2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]thiophene-2-carboxylate gave the corresponding monofluorinated products selectively in moderate yields.
