An organocatalytic asymmetric formal aza-[3+3]cycloaddition of readily available N-Tosyl-3-aminobenzofuran with alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes was developed for the first time. This method enables the facile synthesis of biologically active and synthetically challenging polysubstituted fused benzofuran derivatives bearing two stereocenters in high yields with excellent diastereo-, and enantioselectivity (up to >20 : 1 dr, and >99% ee). A novel series of potent and selective non-peptide neuropeptide Y (NPY) Y1 receptor antagonists, having benzazepine nuclei, have been designed, synthesized, and evaluated for activity. Chemical modification of the R1 and R3 substituents in structure 1 (Chart 1) yields several compounds that show high affinity for the Y1 receptor (K(i) values of less than 10 nM). SAR studies revealed that introduction of an isopropylurea group at R1 and a 3- (benzo-condensed-urea) group, 3-(fluorophenylurea) group, or a 3-(N-(4- hydroxyphenyl)guanidine) group at R3 in structure 1 afforded potent and subtype-selective NPY Y1 receptor antagonists. 3-(3-(Benzothiazol-6- yl)ureido)-1-N-(3-(N’-(3-isopropylureido))benzyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-1- benzazepin-2-one (21), which was one of the most potent derivatives, competitively inhibited specific [125I]peptide YY (PYY) binding to Y1 receptors in human neuroblastoma SK-N-MC cells (K(i) = 5.1 nM). 21 not only inhibited the Y1 receptor-mediated increase in cytosolic free Ca2+ concentration in SK-N-MC cells but also antagonized the Y1 receptor-mediated inhibitory effect of peptide YY on gastrin-induced histamine release in rat enterochromaffin-like cells. 21 showed no significant affinity in 17 receptor binding assays including Y2, Y4, and Y5 receptors.

A strategy for the selective phosphonation of benzofuran and benzothiophene with trialkyl phosphites was developed. In these reactions, the C?H phosphonation of benzofurans or benzothiophenes at the C2 or C3 position with trialkyl phosphites was successfully achieved without directing groups by using a copper catalyst. Additionally, the C5 phosphonation of furan was successful under the same conditions.

Enzyme inhibitors cause a decrease in the reaction rate of an enzyme-catalyzed reaction by binding to a specific portion of an enzyme and thus slowing or preventing a reaction from occurring.Application In Synthesis of 6-Methylbenzo[b]thiophene, such as the rate of change in the concentration of reactants or products with time.In a article, mentioned the application of 16587-47-6, Name is 6-Methylbenzo[b]thiophene, molecular formula is C9H8S

Fifty-seven for the ortho-benzylic coupling constant 4JMe-C=C-H (henceforth denoted as 4JOB) were obtained for a variety of heteroaromatic systems. It was shown that a good correlation exists between 4JOB when the methyl group is not alpha to the heteroatom and the SCF-MO bond order. This method can therefore be used as experimental means of determining bond orders in heteroaromatic systems. An examination of bond alternation in thirteen heteroaromatic systems has given a measure of relative “degree of aromaticity” for a larger number of systems than previously r eported by any single method.

Balanced chemical reaction does not necessarily reveal either the individual elementary reactions by which a reaction occurs or its rate law.Related Products of 14315-11-8. In my other articles, you can also check out more blogs about 14315-11-8

Related Products of 14315-11-8, Chemistry is the science of change. But why do chemical reactions take place? Why do chemicals react with each other? The answer is in thermodynamics and kinetics. In a document type is Article, and a compound is mentioned, 14315-11-8, 4-Methylbenzo[b]thiophene, introducing its new discovery.

Recent studies conducted at our laboratory have shown that sediments contaminated with complex mixtures of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can exhibit enhanced toxicity (lethality) to a variety of aquatic species when the samples are tested under ultraviolet (UV) light designed to mimic the wavelengths present in sunlight. However, because these contaminated sediments can contain literally thousands of chemicals, it is difficult to use conventional analytical techniques to identify those compounds responsible for photo-induced toxicity. The purpose of this study was to adapt existing toxicity identification evaluation methods to attempt to identify those compounds contributing to the phototoxicity observed in our sediment samples. Pore water obtained from sediments collected near an oil refinery discharge was toxic to Lumbriculus variegatus following exposure to UV light, while organisms exposed to the same pore water, but without subsequent UV treatment, showed no toxic effect. Solid-phase extraction disks and high-performance liquid chromatography were used, in conjunction with toxicity tests with L. variegatus, to extract and fractionate phototoxic chemicals from the pore water. Phototoxic fractions analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry revealed the presence of a number of aliphatic hydrocarbons, substituted PAHs, and PAHs containing heteroatoms. Chemicals were screened for their phototoxic potential based on empirical data and predictive models. A refined list of PAHs was then evaluated on the basis of their phototoxic potency as defined by a recently developed quantitative structure-activity relationship model and estimates of their bioaccumulation potential. Based on the model predictions of potency and bioaccumulation, nine likely phototoxic chemicals were identified.
